Thailand
Best: November – AprilClimate
Tropical — hot and humid year-round with a distinct dry and wet season.
When to Visit
November through April is the dry season — warm, sunny, and ideal for sightseeing and beach time. Temperatures range from 75–95°F. The monsoon season (May–October) brings heavy rain and humidity but fewer crowds.
Packing note: Light, breathable clothing is essential. Bring a light rain layer even in dry season. Modest clothing is required for temple visits — shoulders and knees must be covered.
Japan
Best: March – May / October – NovemberClimate
Temperate — four distinct seasons with significant regional variation.
When to Visit
Spring (March–May) brings the iconic cherry blossoms and mild temperatures of 50–70°F. Autumn (October–November) offers stunning fall foliage and comfortable weather. Summer is hot and humid; winter is cold with snow in northern regions.
Packing note: Layer up for spring — mornings and evenings can be cool. Comfortable walking shoes are critical as Japan involves significant daily walking. Slip-on shoes are helpful for frequent temple visits.
Argentina
Best: October – April (Buenos Aires & Mendoza) / November – March (Patagonia)Climate
Highly varied — subtropical in the north, temperate in Buenos Aires, arid in Mendoza, and sub-polar in Patagonia.
When to Visit
Buenos Aires and Mendoza are best October through April (Southern Hemisphere spring/summer). Patagonia is best November through March. Expect warm days and cool evenings in Buenos Aires; hot dry summers in Mendoza; and unpredictable, windy conditions in Patagonia year-round.
Packing note: Patagonia demands serious layering — wind, rain, and sun can all occur in a single afternoon. Bring a quality waterproof jacket and sturdy hiking shoes. Buenos Aires evenings call for a smart-casual layer.
